CalcPerks

Partnerships and links

Resource-page inclusion, collaborations, or a tool you'd like to feature.

We are a small independent site and we like working with other small independent sites. What follows is deliberately blunt about which side of the line a proposal has to fall on, because most of the mail this page receives will be from people hoping the line is somewhere else.

The rule

Links here are editorial. We link to something because it helps the person reading the page, and for no other reason. No money changes hands in either direction, no reciprocal arrangement is agreed in advance, and no link is placed because a link was placed for us.

This is not posturing about link schemes. It is that a resource list nobody paid for is the only kind worth reading, and the moment we start selling placement, every other link on the site becomes worthless too.

What we are open to

  • Resource-page inclusion. If you run a genuinely useful list — a personal-finance hub, a course page, a library guide — and one of our calculators belongs on it, tell us which one and why.
  • Embedding a calculator. Our tools can run inside your page with attribution, so your readers get the answer without leaving you. Tell us which tool and where it would sit.
  • Co-authored explainers. You bring the domain expertise, we bring the maths and the tool. See write for us for how contributions work.
  • Data and API collaborations. If you have a dataset that would make a calculator better, or you want to call our calculations from your own product, start here.
  • Corrections from people who know better. Not a partnership exactly, but the most valuable mail we get. Send those through contact.

What we always decline

  • Paid links, in either direction.Including “a small editorial fee”, “a contribution towards hosting”, gift cards and product samples.
  • Link exchanges. Three-way and round-robin swaps included — the extra hop does not make it editorial.
  • Private blog networks, expired-domain builds, and outreach that will not say which site the link is for.
  • Guest posts written to carry a link. Those are covered, and refused, on the write for us page.
  • Requests to remove a link we placed for editorial reasons, unless the page has changed materially or the content is no longer accurate — in which case we will usually agree.
  • Bulk outreach. If the message could have been sent to a thousand sites, we will treat it as though it was.

Being honest about our end of it

CalcPerks is new. Our domain authority is low, our traffic is modest and a link from us is worth little today in the terms an SEO tool would measure. If that is the calculation you are running, this is probably not worth your time — and we would rather you knew that before you wrote to us than after.

If what you actually want is exposure to our readers, that is advertising, it is legitimate, and it is clearly labelled. The advertising page explains what we offer and what we refuse to sell.

Get in touch

Include your website and be specific about the page you have in mind. A proposal that names the exact URL on both sides and explains what the reader gets out of it will always get a proper answer.

We reply by hand. No mailing list, no automated follow-ups.
